Asian Ceremony Traditions

With teenagers and their youngsters embracing culture and tradition, more newlyweds than ever before are turning to the Eastern territory for their major evening. Whether it’s an Indian or Korean American bridal, the ceremonies are a lovely way for families to interact with their heritage and slip on spiritual traditions

One of the most important wedding traditions is the circling of the divine flames, which translates to „your aspirations for prosperity and obligation to your home are encircled by this fire“. This service is usually conducted in front of the bride and groom’s relatives before they take their vows.

Another popular ritual is paying value to the woman’s elders, which is done by the bride preparing meal for her new dad’s household the day after their marriage. This is a method for the bride to display her love to her in- rules and to ask for their blessings.

The wife would furthermore visit her own parents for dinner a few days after her wedding to congratulate them for raising her and offer them a present as a form of cheers.

In the past, when Chinese couples were engaged, the groom had to pay the bride price, which was usually in the form of money, gifts or a roasted pig. The bride’s family then wished the couple a long and prosperous marriage. Tea was also served as a betrothal gift, as it is believed that the evergreen nature of the plant signifies longevity.
